The
stunning Mediterranean Island of Capri has long been
a favourite haunt of the European elite as well as those
from further afield. With only the small Bay of Naples
separating it from the Italian mainland, this encapsulating
place offers an idyllic paradise – perfect for
an island break if you’re touring
the great cultural and historical cities of Italy.
One of the more famous attractions on Capri is the
Grotta Azzurra or Blue Cave – one of the many
caves created by the island’s distinctive limestone
platform and so called because of the bizarre blue glow
given to the waters inside by a unique and completely
natural trick of the light.

A few steps from the Hotel Relais Maresca Capri is
the cable-car that takes everybody from the shore up
to the town of Capri. (The journey takes about 3 minutes).
Arriving at Piazzetta Capri – the miniscule town
square - visitors then have the freedom to roam the
surprisingly vibrant town of Capri or go further afield
to Anacapri, the island’s second town.
Tours of the nearby city of Naples, Mount Vesuvius,
Pompeii, Ercolana and trips to the stunning Amalfi Coast
are all available through the hotel as well as trips
to the other islands in the vicinity such as Ischia,
Ponza and Ventotene.
